Oofda! as the Norwegians would say…
We’ll be in lovely Seattle, Washington this coming weekend at the Ballard Seafood Fest pouring our Viridian wines. Stop on by and say hello.
This is one of the best summer food festivals in the Northwest, and is especially known for the traditional planked BBQ salmon. It goes great with Viridian pinot gris. Besides lots and lots of seafood, several dozen excellent Seattle restaurants are on hand with samples and full plate offerings. If you like to eat (we do), then this is THE place to be this weekend. There are also a ton of family activities including live music and other entertainment.
Oh, and did we mention there are VIKINGS? There are. See, Ballard was founded by Norwegians and still retains the charm of a small Scandanavian fishing village. Expect traditional costumes, dances, crafts and big dudes named Thor and Odin dressed in helmets with horns. Besides lots of salmon, traditional Norwegian foods are also available including smoked fish products, herring and, um, what kind of wine goes with that Norwegian “delicacy” known as Lutefisk?
The Ballard Seafood Festival runs Saturday July 25th from 11AM to 8PM and Sunday July 26th from 11AM to 7PM. The Festival is located at:
2208 NW Market St.
Seattle, WA 98107
